Earthlike returns home to launch their debut album The Main One at The Tote on Friday January 16th. The eclectic album was written in the far reaches of Australia’s north, capturing the stark beauty and shifting headspace of life lived remote.

Earthlike is the project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Glover, born from a desire to create sounds that bookmark a time, a place, and a feeling. The Main One took shape while Glover was living and working between West Arnhem Land and Darwin. At its core The Main One is heavily influenced by Glover’s time spent remote; the natural landscape; sounds of the bush; the long drives; the often wavering headspace; and the people encountered along the way. All of whom have seeped into the music in some capacity. Conceptualised on a warped six-string guitar (the humidity a constant battle in the Top End) the album was recorded to tape over a 10-day span in Melbourne with the help of Dylan Young.

Join Earthlike at The Tote, Collingwood, as they perform The Main One in full for the first time—a raw, immersive, and cathartic return to where the journey began.
