Dog Trumpet is spearheaded by brothers Peter O’Doherty and Reg Mombassa, original members of iconic Aria award winning and Hall of Fame band Mental As Anything. Featuring Bernie Hayes on Bass and Vocals and Declan O’Doherty on Drums and Vocals.
Dog Trumpet will be launching their new album “Live Forever” performing Dog Trumpet favourites and Mentals classics with special guests Mark Ferrie’s Instant Noodles @ The Tote Hotel Collingwood Vic - Album launch show Saturday arvo 26th July 2025
Dog Trumpet have a brand new single High On The Rocks from the new album Live Forever written by Peter O’Doherty. High On the Rocks is a song about a lifelong fear of falling, childhood and anxiety, riding on a psychedelic bed of guitars and organs, all immersed in a dreamlike state of memory and existence; a constant reminder that change is constant and nothing repeats or remains the same. Over melodic guitars and organ, the music ebbs and flows as do the lyrics.
Dog Trumpet are touring their new album number nine all over Australia in 2025 bringing their unique
music and art to you. We look forward to seeing you.
Dog Trumpet will be joined by Mark Ferrie's Instant Noodles:
Featuring MARK FERRIE (Models, RocKwiz Orkestra, Sacred Cowboys) on guitar
and loops plus HARRY O'MARA on drums, this instrumental intergenerational
mash-up sees fragments of pop melodies, modal explorations, sound bites and
spacious, swinging grooves combining spontaneously over supple, hypnotic loops.
In addition to being captivating listening, this is social music and the perfect
accompaniment to conversation and good times.
As an added bonus for their support to DOG TRUMPET at the Tote on Sat 26 July
multi instrumentalist STU THOMAS will join the Noodles on trumpet and effects.
