Double Single Launch: Bagful Of Beez + Heir To The Squandered Millions w/ Captain Beep-boop
A TWO-FOR-ONE SPECTACULAR!! The McLennan brothers (Ross and Link) and their bands are celebrating their second singles from upcoming albums on Cheersquad Records & Tapes* with a one-two punch of a dual launch show. As if that wasn't exciting enough, special guest Captain Beep-boop is making this a not-to-be-missed event!
Bagful Of Beez, Link Meanie’s DIY pop project, is a brilliant and eclectic mix of classic pop styles, a sort of everything-including-the-kitchen-sink approach of studio-enamoured pop savants - if that is a genre. Link is joined by pals, Matt, Meghan and Chip.
“Bagful of Beez is now a full band, so no more glitching backing tracks and more band members which is handy for gang fights.” - Link
Heir To The Squandered Millions is the new vehicle for Ross McLennan (formerly of 90s power pop trio Snout). The band features Ewan McCartney (also of Snout) on drums, Jane McCracken (The Foots, Cheeses) on bass/vocals, and Ben Mason (Smallgoods) on guitar/vocals.
You should expect smarty pants guitar hooks, rock and soul rhythms with a forward lean, and lots of harmonies.
Captain Beep-boop plays queer electronic punk music on a DIY modified Telstra "Bluephone" payphone synthesiser.
