Spider Goat Canyon 'Walking With Geordie' Album Launch with The Pass

Spider Goat Canyon have just entered their 23rd year of noise making and are about to launch their 15th album titled “Walking With Geordie”.

The album features a chunky sonic soundscape of freestyle psychedelic sludge rock that does not let up for over 40mins. Recorded at Toyland Studio in Northcote in 2023 this album is the second released from the session. Showcasing the Goat’s love of building distorted melody into walls of noise. It is a fine representation of what to expect at their live shows. The album was captured live in studio with no overdubs and is a beast to behold.

Spider Goat Canyon currently features the forming rhythm section Deryck Hunt on Drums, Josh Beagley (GOUTS/ Noise Vows) on Bass and Toby Wrecker (HWCT/ GOUTS / Noise Vows) on guitar. Walking With Geordie is being released digitally on Bandcamp and is also going to feature on a CDR split with Noise Vows, a side project of Josh and Toby’s. It will be launched at the Tote Front Bar on Sunday 1st March.

Their live shows cover a lot of ground. These guys have been playing free from psychedelic rock for a long time and do it with a lot of passion. Influenced hugely by the likes of The Melvins, Yawning Man, Killing Joke, Fugazi, Sonic Youth, Drive Like Jehu, The Jesus Lizard, Jesu and everything between. No two shows are ever the same and elements of these influences shine through in their performances. If you’re into sonic soundscapes with a shitload of groove this is a show not to miss. Joining them on the bill and kicking off at 3pm will be “The Pass” who are a relentlessly grunty, sludgy, hardcore noise fest that deliver seriously rad times.
