Orstralia Book Launch

Orstralia: A Punk History is a two-volume set of books that document the nation’s history of punk from 1974 to 1999. Written from over 200 interviews, they include all the notable bands of the period as well as many of its fleeting and obscure acts from across the entirety of Australia. Not wishing to have the books launched in the staid surrounds of a bookstore, The Tote seemed the most fitting venue given its decades long forbearance and support of punk bands and audiences. A free Saturday afternoon show gives the opportunity for punks both new and old to help celebrate Australian punk's intense, tragic, and triumphant half century history. Helping to launch the books will be some of the city's best contemporary punk/hardcore bands: Shove, Rat Bait and Paroxys.
